Update: Solo builders are now welcome in the #75HER Hackathon! However, whether you're prepping for the Idea-thon or gearing up for the Hackathon, we strongly encourage teams (2-5 members). The right team can take your project from good to unforgettable. Connect with collaborators who share your vision and bring complementary skills to the table.

Why Team Up for the Hackathon?

You don't need to be a developer to add massive value. The best projects aren't just technically solid—they're well-designed, clearly communicated, and strategically positioned. Teams with diverse skills consistently outperform solo builders.

Cross-functional teams win because:

• Developers build the functionality
• Designers create intuitive user experiences
• Strategists/Business minds frame the problem and pitch
• Domain experts bring real-world context and user insights
• Storytellers craft compelling narratives for demos and pitches

Even if you've never coded, participating in the Hackathon is one of the best ways to showcase your skills tangibly. Judges evaluate on innovation, impact, and presentation—not just lines of code.

Three Ways to Find Your Team

When to Form Your Team

During Idea-thon (Feb 9-16):

• Find teammates who share your problem space or SDG focus
• Collaborate on problem framing and solution concepts
• Build rapport before the intense Hackathon phase
• Submit your Idea-thon blueprint together

During Hackathon (Feb 16 - Mar 7):

• Join or form teams to build your prototype
• You can still find teammates during this phase!
• Early-formed teams have an advantage with planning and setup
• Solo builders are welcome but teams are encouraged

Best Practice: Start connecting during Idea-thon, even if you're still exploring ideas. Early conversations lead to stronger teams.
